One Parent’s Perspective
I highly recommend High Country Peace Village day camp. Both of my children attended last year and it was such a fulfilling week for them. They were able to get out in the beautiful area at the Valle Crucis Conference Center every day--exploring creeks, trails, the flowers and the beautiful views of the valley. They practiced yoga every morning which was something they both loved! They enjoyed working with clay and practicing watercolor. They explored big topics like how to handle conflicts and navigate differences with guides who also made it fun. They made wonderful friends with fellow campers and camp volunteers, sharing meals and getting to know each other over the course of the week. It was great that the camp experience was extended to monthly meetings over the school year so that those friendships could be nurtured. Both kids are excited about returning to Peace Village this summer and I am so glad to see this program thrive and grow in the High Country!

Peace with Animals: A Clay Project
Building an animal with clay means getting to know it! You have noticed its shape, where certain parts of it fit together and what makes it distinct from another animals.

Intergenerational Moments Teach Us All
Learning occurs across generations and decades. The grey hairs learn from the tow-headed. The smooth, supple skin learns bits of wisdom from the crepey skin and age spots.

Peace Village Gathers for Connection
Relationships built need to be fed. Our summer day camp participants asked for more connection, so we started monthly gatherings.
